I’m sure this update isn’t needed, as I know all of you are massive Bucks fans, but your favorite NBA team is 2-2 through the season’s first four games.  And that record includes a 2-1 record on the road.  Last season we won just 7 road games all season!  We’ll have played 19 road games by the end of November, more than any other team in the NBA.  That means through the season’s first month (of six), we’ll have played 23% of our schedule.  Crazy!

I’m not traveling as much this season, which is good news.  My boss is doing a few more games and we’re letting my co-worker and roommate, Adam, do a few more this season.  It works out great because Katie and I are doing so much wedding planning – I know she appreciates having me around more this season.  And while I still really love traveling (it’s the coolest part of the job), I’ve been to every NBA city, so it’s not the end of the world if I’m not on too many road games.

Our team is going to have their work cut out for them in these first two months.  If they can make it to January with a .500 record, I think we’ll be in great shape for a serious run at our first postseason berth since 2005-06.

Wedding planning continues to go well.  Katie and I met with a florist today.  She was nice, smart, had a great portfolio, and, most importantly, said, “You tell me what your budget is and I’ll make it work.”  That’s what we want to hear!  Our save-the-dates should go out in mid- to end-November, which also means that our invite list will be done.  That’s been the hardest thing so far – trying to finalize the list.  Katie and I both have huge families and we have a lot of friends, too.  I guess it’s a good problem to have, but still …

Don’t forget to vote tomorrow!!  I went to vote early today, only to find that the place I went to was only a polling location on election day.  So I’ll be up early to get in line and vote tomorrow.  Do you know who I’m voting for?  Do you?  Because if you do, tell me.  Seriously.  I go back and forth every day.  It’ll be interesting to see who I pull the lever for tomorrow (yes, I know there are no more levers).  There’s a lot I like and dislike about both candidates.  And it’s because of my lack of a position that I haven’t posted my usual opinionated journals about the election (see: 2004).

I’m not sure my vote will matter too much either way in Wisconsin.  I think we’re an Obama state for sure.  As for the country, I think that’s tilting Obama’s way.  I love watching the coverage.  I’m having a small gathering of friends at my place tomorrow (a mix of both candidates) to have pizza and watch the coverage on MSNBC and Fox News.  It’s like watching the Super Bowl.  I’m even running a pool.  I’m giving everyone a blank map of the U.S. and people have to pick what color each state will go – red or blue.  Whoever gets the most right wins a prize.  I told you I got into this.

Happy it-gets-dark-early to everyone.  Kind of depressing, but it’s also nice to just cozy up inside at night from time to time.  And it’s a sign that Christmas is coming.
