Well, I've finally gotten around to completing the website.  The name "mattwessemusic.com" has been registered for almost a year now, and I've never really done much with it.  First of all, I didn't want to pay for a website.  Once I decided to cough up the cash, it took me forever to figure out how to make a stupid webpage.  I think I'm doing quite well.  I'm no "graphic designer", but I think this webpage is pretty dang hip.  There was also the issue of some other "musician" owning "mattwessel.com".  I kept writing him and asking for the rights to his page (I even offered to pay).  But he said no.  I don't blame him.  It's a great domain name.  I'll just have to wait until I'm insanely rich and famous before I can go after him with lawyers and steal his site.  Kidding.  I would never do that...  Well, maybe...

It's been a week since I played at the 2nd Annual Concert For Life.  To put it in other terms, it's been about a week since the most entertaining, fun, exciting, and productive night of my 20-year existence.  The show was great.  I played for about 2 hours.  The songs I played were all originals - including the debut of what is currently referred to as "The Baseball Song" or "You're Out: Ode To The Umpires".  I don't think anybody at the show expected a song like this.  However, based on the reaction it got, I know that everyone loved it.  It's a funny song about how umpires are always right (I used to be an umpire).  I plan on recording this song ASAP and sending it to MLB and some Milwaukee and Chicago radio stations.  The concert itself raised over $8,000 for the American Cancer Society.  There were also informational booths set-up during intermission to allow people to further educate themselves about the disease.  But the best part was seeing almost 1,000 people from the community gathered in one room for one night for such an important cause.  I had a blast.  Mark your calanders for next years show...

I'm also playing at a few shows in April.  Be sure to look at the "concerts" page on this site for more information.  I'm scheduled to play at three venues, but these people are taking a while in getting back to me with details.  So, it might be awhile until detailed information is available.

Finally, I'm going to Italy on Friday.  I don't know if I'll write another entry by then.  If not, I'll be sure to write when I get back and let you all know about the beautiful women I meet down there and about how I ran into this record producer who signed me to a multi-million dollar contract.  Until then, keep listening, and let me know what to add to this site!!
